How to create generational wealth, identify the capital already in your hands, and build wealth with purpose.

If I told you that you were born with the equivalent of over a million dollars in your hands not in your bank account, but in your hands would you believe me?

I know. It sounds impossible. Especially if right now you are working hard, paying bills, trying to save, and still feeling like wealth is something that happens to other people. People who were born lucky. People who had a head start. People who are just different from you somehow.

But I want to challenge that belief today. Because it is not just wrong. It is costing you.

Global financial wealth grew 10.7% in 2025 alone, reaching over $333 trillion worldwide. The Middle East and Africa grew 12.3%. The wealth is not disappearing. It is not drying up. It is moving. And the only question worth asking is:

Do you know how to position yourself in the flow of it?

The answer starts long before strategy. Long before investment accounts or income streams. It starts with understanding two types of people

survival mode vs creation mode for building wealth

The Survivor and The Creator.

Which one are you right now?

Are You A Survivor or Creator?

There are two modes you can move through life in. Most people have never realized this, but if you pay careful attention to what I am about to share with you, you’ll understand why creating wealth seems difficult for you when it should be easy.

The first mode is survival mode. In survival mode, everything you do with money is reactive.

You work to pay rent. You start a business to cover school fees. You save when there is something left over which is almost never. You are always chasing the next thing because the last thing did not quite cover everything. You are not lazy. You are not undisciplined. You are simply operating from the wrong mindset.

The second mode is creation mode. In creation mode, you are not running from a problem. You are building toward a vision. You create value for people. Money comes to you as a result of that value. And instead of spending it to escape discomfort, you channel it into systems that keep producing even when you are not working.

A mentor who spent years at JP Morgan Chase and helped build private banking in one of Africa’s leading financial institutions once asked me this question directly:

Are you a person trying to survive, or a creator trying to build?

Now, I am asking you the same question: Are you a survivor or a Creator?

Evaluate the “whys” behind your hustle. Have you been working from a mindset of lack or from a mindset of abundance? Because that gap between surviving and creating is the very thing standing between you and the wealth you said you wanted.

The good news is that the shift from one to the other is not about working harder. It is about understanding the five frameworks that wealthy people have always used and you’re about to learn these frameworks too.

But before we get to those frameworks, I need to show you something from scripture that changed everything for me.

You Were Born With a Fortune: What the Parable of the Talents Actually Says

In Matthew 25, Jesus tells a story about a man who goes on a journey and leaves his wealth with three servants before he leaves. To one he gives five talents. To another, two talents and to the last servant, he gave one talent.

Now here is the part that most people miss. In Jesus’s time, one talent was approximately 20 years’ worth of wages for a working person. In today’s equivalent, one talent is worth around $1.5 million.

Think about that. The servant who received “only one” was actually handed $1.5 million. Jesus was not describing poverty. He was describing different measures of entrusted wealth that everyone on earth was given by God. And he was using this story to illustrate the abundance in the Kingdom of God.

Which means this: Nobody was born with nothing.

Every person who walks this earth was born with capital, a fortune given by God, not to spend on themselves, but to trade. To take to the market. To multiply and use in service of the purpose they were sent here to fulfil.

The servant with five talents went out immediately. He traded. He bought knowledge. He built relationships. He took risks. And he doubled what he was given.

The servant with two talents did exactly the same. And he too doubled his portion.

But the servant with one talent? He buried it!

He was so overwhelmed by fear, so distracted by comparing himself to the others, so paralysed by the thought of losing what he had, that he did absolutely nothing with it!

And at the end of the story, even the one talent he buried was taken from him and given to the one who had ten.

This is not just a spiritual lesson. This is a law of wealth playing out in scripture.

Most of us are living like the one-talent servant. Not because we have less than others. But because we are so focused on what someone else has that we have completely overlooked the fortune already in our hands.

What Is Your Talent? (It Is Not What You Think)

Before you say “but I don’t have a talentstop. Because that is exactly what the one-talent servant thought.

Your talent is not just a skill you were born with. It is the unique combination of gifts, your unusual curiosity and hunger to know and learn, a burning passion or desire that keeps you up at night, your natural strengths, and callings that God placed in you before you arrived here.

And sometimes, most times, it looks nothing like what you think wealth should look like.

Maybe you are not the best singer, the most talented coder, or the sharpest entrepreneur in the room. But you love to serve people. You light up when you encourage someone.

You are the one everyone calls when they need advice. You cook in a way that makes people feel at home. You make people feel seen. You are naturally curious about how things work. You have a gift for making complicated things simple.

These are not small things. These are your capital.

Here is how to find yours. Think about the things you do effortlessly that other people compliment you on.

Not the things you have worked the hardest at. The things that feel almost too easy, the things where people say “how do you do that?” and you genuinely do not understand why they are asking because it feels natural to you.

That thing. That is your starting point.

You do not need to be the best at it in the world. You just need to be better at it than most of the people around you. And as you go deeper into it, as you gain knowledge, build skill, and serve others with it, it gets clearer. The path reveals itself as you walk it. But you have to start walking.

Stop looking sideways at what someone else has been given. Take inventory of what is already in your hands. That is where your wealth creation journey actually begins.

The 5 Wealth Frameworks the Top 1% Actually Use For Financial Freedom

Once you know what you have been given, the next step is knowing how to multiply it. Here are the five frameworks that turn your talent into lasting wealth.

Framework 1: Gain Knowledge

This is the foundation. Before accumulation, before investment, before any of the other frameworks, you need knowledge. Not general motivation. Not another podcast you half-listen to on your commute. Operational knowledge. The kind that teaches you exactly how to take what you have and make it work.

A wealthy mentor taught me this: you do not get what you desire. You get what you learn.

The servant who doubled his talents did not just have talent. He went and learned what to do with it. He sought wisdom. He found people who knew more than him. He traded on knowledge, not just effort.

If you want different results, you need different information. And you need to be willing to pay for it with your time, your money, and your attention – these too are your capital.

Ask the wealthy, they’ll pay a premium to save time because time is actually money so your time is also your capital, spend it wisely. The Financial Empowerment course by Sola Adesakin exists for exactly this reason to give you the operational knowledge that closes the gap between where you are financially and where you want to be

Framework 2: Accumulate

This is where money actually comes in. But here is the truth most people miss: you do not accumulate money by chasing it. You accumulate it by creating value through a business or system that delivers something people genuinely need.

If you are only working to pay bills, you have a job. That is not wealth creation. Wealth accumulation requires a vehicle: a business, a service, a product, a platform, that collects money on your behalf, even when you are not physically present.

Ask yourself: what do I have that I can package, deliver, and grow? Your talent is the answer to that question. The Financial Empowerment course will help you find it

Framework 3: Preserve

This is where most people fall apart. They make money and spend it just as fast. Not on luxuries, on survival. On the same bills that pushed them to start earning in the first place.

Preservation means ensuring that the money you make does not simply evaporate. It means budgeting with intention. It means separating what you need from what you want. It means building systems, savings structures, emergency funds, financial guardrails, that protect what you earn and give it the chance to grow.

Think of it this way. A seed is not meant to be eaten. It is meant to be planted. Every time you spend your seed capital on immediate consumption, you are eating your harvest before it grows.

Framework 4: Multiply

Once you have preserved, you multiply. This is where investment comes in, putting your preserved capital into assets, opportunities, and vehicles that grow it without requiring your direct labour.

Multiplication is not gambling. It is not chasing trends. It is the patient, informed deployment of capital into things you understand, based on the knowledge you have built in Framework 1. This is why knowledge comes first. You cannot multiply wisely what you do not understand.

The wealthy are not lucky. They are patient. A poor person’s liability is their impatience. A wealthy person’s greatest asset is their willingness to wait for compounding to do its work.

Framework 5: Build Legacy

This is the framework most people never reach, not because it is complicated, but because they started from the wrong foundation.

Legacy is not just about leaving money for your family. It is about leaving a system. A brand. A set of values and knowledge that will continue to produce wealth for generations to come. It is building something that does not need you to keep it running.

The man with five talents did not just make ten more. He demonstrated to everyone around him what faithful stewardship of a gift looks like. That demonstration is a legacy in itself, a template that future generations can emulate to generate more wealth.

Legacy begins the day you stop building for your own survival and start building for the generations to come.

The One Thing I Want You to Walk Away With

The one-talent servant did not fail because he had less. He failed because he was so busy looking at what others had that he buried the fortune already in his hands.

You were not born poor. You were born rich. You were born with a fortune, a gift, a calling, a unique combination of strengths that this world needs and will pay for. The question is not whether the wealth is there. The question is what you are going to do with it.

Stop burying it. Stop comparing it. Invest in your gifts, and it will produce a bountiful harvest for you.

Key Takeaways

  • Wealth creation starts with the right mindset, not just more effort.
  • Your talent is capital. Find it, refine it, and use it on purpose.
  • The five frameworks are: gain knowledge, accumulate, preserve, multiply, and build legacy.
  • Financial freedom comes from building systems that keep working for you.
